§ Mr. Prescottasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans exist for new community programme opportunities to be provided by his Department.
§ Mr. HurdIn October 1985 I announced an initiative to promote community programme opportunities in local crime prevention projects. At the end of May, 161 projects providing 5,055 places had been approved under the initiative. Proposals for further projects continue to be received. To help sustain this progress my Department is preparing a booklet, giving examples of the successful crime prevention projects which have been established using the community programme.
