HC Deb 25 July 1986 vol 102 c522W
Mr. Fayell

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to meet the chairman of British Rail to discuss improvements to rail services in the north-west; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

We have no present plans to discuss further improvements. It is anticipated that significant transport benefits will flow from the new Windsor link in Manchester and from the planned introduction of the new fast sprinter trains between Blackpool and Manchester.
