HC Deb 24 July 1986 vol 102 c496W
Sir Julian Ridsdale

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects a decision as to whether sea defence work at the Naze at Walton-on-the-Naze will proceed.

Mrs. Fenner

There have been several objections to the proposed coast protection works at the Naze and to the associated request for planning permission. It is now necessary to hold a public local inquiry and arrangements are in hand to set this up. No decision as to the acceptability of the coast protection works can be made until the results of the inquiry are known.
