§ Mr. Neil Thorneasked the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has about the market share in road traffic control equipment currently held by the Plessey Company and GEC.
§ Mr. MooreMarket share was one of the factors to be considered by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission in assessing the proposal for a merger between GEC and Plessey in the light of the evidence submitted by them. My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry now has the Commission's report before him and will make an announcement as soon as practicable.
