asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received concerning the possible use of plastic bullets by the police in England and Wales.

Since 1 September last year we have received 101 letters from hon. Members and others about plastic baton rounds. Fourty two have expressed support for such equipment and 59 have expressed concern or opposition.
