Mr. Boyes

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how many jobs have been created as a result of the activities of NCB (Enterprise) Ltd. in each region; how many potential jobs have been created; how much money has been invested; and if he will list for each region the name of the firm, its main activities, the number of jobs before NCB (Enterprise) Ltd. activities, and the number of people employed at the latest known date.

At 28 June 1986, NCB (Enterprise) Ltd. to be known as British Coal Enterprise Ltd. from 31 July, had committed £12.9 million to 639 projects to help create 5,203 job opportunities initially and another 3,025 potential job opportunities, without further investment. The regional breakdown is as follows:
