asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now make a statement on the McColl report, taking into account the views put to his Department about its recommendations.

We have not yet completed our consideration, in the light of the responses we have received in consultation, of the issues raised in the McColl report; in particular, we think it right to take account also of the recently published report of the Royal College of Physicians on medical rehabilitation services generally.
