HC Deb 24 July 1986 vol 102 c366W
Mr. Wareing

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on relations between the United Kingdom and Egypt and their implications for a middle east peace settlement.

Mr. Renton

Relations between the United Kingdom and Egypt are excellent. As my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister told President Mubarak on 17 July, we are concerned at the current hiatus in the peace process. Britain and the Twelve remain ready to support any realistic initiative to promote a peaceful settlement.
