HC Deb 24 July 1986 vol 102 cc437-8W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will provide an estimate of the number of social security and housing benefit claimants who would cease to be eligible for each category of housing benefit or social security if child benefit were to be increased to (a) £15 and (b) £20 per week.

Mr. Newton

I regret that the information requested could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the number of claimants for each benefit administered by the Department of Health and Social Security in Wales;
