HC Deb 24 July 1986 vol 102 c344W
Mr. Caborn

asked the Paymaster General how many civil servants are working on the action for jobs campaign.

Mr. Lang

Six officers in the publicity and promotions unit of my department's information branch and two in the manpower policy division have worked on the campaign in addition to their other duties. Since action for jobs concerns the full range of employment, training and enterprise measures, many other officials have been involved at various stages.

Mr. Caborn

asked the Paymaster General what consultations took place with the Manpower Services Commission on the action for jobs campaign; and if they have agreed to use it in conjunction with other schemes.

Mr. Lang

Various discussions have taken place between my Department and the Manpower Services Commission about such matters as the drafting of the "Action for Jobs" booklet and the distribution arrangements. The MSC have agreed that in future, publicity for their individual measures will, like that for all my Department's programmes, carry the "Action for Jobs" logo.
