§ Mr. Giles ShawThe Commissioner has informed me that the Metropolitan police take enforcement action as and when breaches of the restrictions on noise are detected. Information on findings of guilt for noise offences by all motor vehicles, by police force area, is published annually in "Offences Relating to Motor Vehicles, England and Wales, Supplementary Tables" (Table 18 of Issue for 1984) copies of which are in the Library. The information available on proceedings does not distinguish offences involving motor cycles.
