Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many deaths in each of the past five years in Northern Ireland are attributable to the abuses of (a) alcohol and (b) drugs.

Mr. Needham

The information requested is as follows:

(2) how many persons were charged with nonscheduled offences; how many were charged with scheduled offences; and how many persons were found not guilty of all or some of the offences with which they were charged in the first six months of the current year;

(3) if he will publish in the Official Report the number of persons who were initially detained under other Acts and were charged under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Acts in the first six months of the current year.
