§ 68. Mr. Greenwayasked the Paymaster General by what criteria he judges the efficiency of jobcentres; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LangThe MSC annual report details the aims, objectives and achievements of jobcentres nationally and by region.
A number of measures exist for determining the efficiency and effectiveness of jobcentres: for example, the number of people (including disabled people) placed in work or on the community programme; the number of training course applications; the MSC costs and staff numbers associated with these activities; the proportion of vacancies notified to jobcentres which they succeed in filling; jobclub performance.
I am pleased to note that jobcentre efficiency generally continues to improve.
