§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Paymaster General what progress has been made in European Economic 78W Community discussions on the Vredling directive on worker participation in industry; if it is his intention, in his capacity as President of the Council, that further discussions on this measure will be on the basis of majority voting under article 100; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LangOn June 5 the EC Council of Social Affairs Ministers recalled that last June it had noted the major difficulties which the draft so-called "Vredling" directive would cause for those member states with a tradition of voluntary collective agreements. The Council further decided that discussion of the proposal would not be resumed until 1989.
