HC Deb 21 July 1986 vol 102 c77W
Mr. Dixon

asked the Paymaster General what guidance his Department has given to wages councils about the conduct of their business while the Wages Bill is being considered in Parliament.

Mr. Trippier

No such guidance has been issued but all members of councils have been made aware of the relevant provisions of the Bill.

Mr. Dixon

asked the Paymaster General how many wages councils have deferred their normal business pending enactment of the Wages Bill.

Mr. Trippier

I understand from the secretary to wages councils that one council has deferred consideration of proposals for a new wages order until the future legislative position becomes clearer.
