§ Mr. WaldenIn the academic year 1984–85 nearly 7,350 students received allowances for dependants under regulations made by the Secretary of State, most of them for a full year of 52 weeks. The total cost was aout £9.5 million; the cost of allowances paid during term-time cannot be separately distinguished.
