Mr. Caborn

asked the Paymaster General what was the purpose of the visit by Dr. Barker of the National Manpower Council of South Africa to his Department.

I understand that he is a senior official who expressed an interest to learn about my Department's employment and training programmes.

asked the Paymaster General who Dr. Barker of the National Manpower Council of South Africa met in the Department of Employment.

The head of my Department's economics branch.

Mr. Caborn

asked the Paymaster General how many visits have been made to his Department by the National Manpower Council of South Africa in the past two years; and whether any more are planned.

The recent visit by Dr. Barker is the only such visit of which my Department has any record. We have received no request for any further such visit.
