HC Deb 21 July 1986 vol 102 cc92-3W
Mr. Pike

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many patients were unable (a) to keep appointments with consultants and (b) attend day care due to lack of ambulances to take them to hospital for each of the last three months for which figures are available.

Mr. Whitney

This information is not held centrally.

Mr. Pike

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many ambulance men were employed at each ambulance station on 1 May in the current year and for the last five years in Lancashire;

(2) how many journeys ambulances made for each station in Lancashire in the first week in May in each of the last five years; and how many patients were not provided with ambulance transport although requested by hospitals or doctors.

Mr. Whitney

We do not hold such information centrally. The hon. Member may therefore wish to address his inquiries to the chairman of Preston health authority, which is responsible for the management of Lancashire ambulance service.
