Mr. Home Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what are the projected capital costs, fuel costs and other operation costs in pence/kwh at March 1986 prices for the first four years of the operation of Torness power station;

(2) if he will give an estimate of the cost of interest and borrowing charges arising from the construction of Torness power station.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what are his Department's current forecasts for the costs of coal, oil, and nuclear fuel, respectively, in pence/kwh during the lifetime of Torness power station.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The Industry Department for Scotland makes no such forecasts.
