§ Mr. EggarThe British Council estimates its expenditure on extra security costs since the air attack on Libya as likely to be in the order of £700,000 in 1986–87. As regards additional resources for the Council, I would refer the hon. Member to my answer of 14 July to the hon. Member for Portsmouth, South (Mr. Hancock).
§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will publish a table showing for each of the past seven years the level of funding made available by the Government to the British Council.
