§ Mr. ButcherIn the new GATT round it will be an important objective to secure reductions in tariff and other barriers to exports of textile and other products. In the meantime the Community's mandate for the multi-fibre arrangement negotiations provides for more favourable treatment for those countries which maintain open markets than for those which do not.
