§ Mr. ButcherThe Department of Trade and Industry is actively promoting the teaching of technology in schools through a number of projects. British School Technology provides a teacher training service and supplies buses converted into mobile technology classrooms. The central aim of the science and technology regional organisation network is
to enhance young people's understanding of science, technology, engineering and industry".Expenditure on these and related activities in 1986–87 will be about £1 million.
