§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, pursuant to the answer of 26 June, Official Report, column 272, he has yet reached any conclusions, following his study of the book "Error of Judgment" by Chris Mullin, about the implications for the efficiency of the police forensic science services of the evidence contained in that book about the preparation of the prosecution case in the trial relating to the Birmingham pub bombings; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HurdAs I mentioned in that reply, I am considering the material in Mr. Mullin's book in the context of my review of the case as a whole. Any wider implications which may emerge will be carefully considered.
