§ Mr. Maxtonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the net cross-boundary inflow of patients into each health board in Scotland in each year since 1978 in total and in each specialty.
§ Mr. John MacKayI regret that figures for the cross-boundary flow of psychiatric and obstetric patients are not available in the form requested. Figures for the cross-boundary flow of patients by medical specialty could be provided only at disproportionate cost. The figures for non-psychiatric and non-obstetric patient discharges are as follows:
§ Mr. John MacKayOver 21,000 representations have been received, nearly all of which are on preprinted postcards. There has been no reduction in the Greater Glasgow health board's financial allocation. Indeed, the board has received an appropriate share of the increased resources which the Government have made available to 499W the Health Service since 1979 and for the current year received an increase of 6.2 per cent. over its allocation last year. Greater Glasgow is now the best-funded board in Scotland. The measures currently being considered by the board to achieve economies in its budget stem from the need to reduce previous over commitments and to redistribute resources according to changing priorities and demands. It is for the board to decide what detailed measures to take in the light of its own priorities.
