It refers to the United Kingdom in 1984, the latest year for which approximately comparable information is available for all parts of the United Kingdom. The numbers of full-time qualified teachers who were employed in public sector secondary schools who had qualifications in mathematics and physics and had undergone courses of teacher training in the United Kingdom are estimated to have been:
