§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what criteria are employed in deciding what funds the constituent colleges of the University of Wales receive for teaching through the medium of Welsh.
§ Mr. WaldenSince 1967 the University Grants Committee has made special grants to the University of Wales for teaching through the medium of Welsh and for bilingual administration. The level of these grants was determined in relation to proposals put forward by the university. In its recent grant allocations for 1986–87 the committee agreed to maintain these grants at the current levels.
