§ Mr. Giles ShawThe national reporting centre has not been opened in connection with this dispute, since there has not been any need to co-ordinate the provision of mutual aid. The acting president of the Association of Chief Police Officers opened the national information centre at New Scotland Yard on 1 May, as my right hon. Friend announced to the House in his statement that day. It was closed on 9 May, and has not been reopened.
