§ 14. Mr. Rogersasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in view of the timing of his statement on 20 June, he plans to review his Ministry's arrangements for monitoring following the Charnobyl disaster.
§ Mr. JoplingNo. I am satisfied that the comprehensive monitoring programme undertaken by me Department since the accident at Chernobyl has been sufficient to enable appropriate and timely action to be taken in order to ensure the safety of food supplies.
§ 19. Dr. David Clarkasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a further statement on the results on the radioactivity levels of grass following the Chernobyl disaster.
§ Mr. JoplingResults of analyses of grass samples were inluded in the data published by the Department of the Environment on 15 May and by my Department on 20 June 1986. These have been placed in the Library of the House.
