§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Transport what level of traffic is expected to be on the Blackburn-M6 link (a) at the time of its opening and (b) 15 years after it opened.
118W
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe predicted levels of traffic on the Blackburn-M6 link are between 8,000 and 34,000 (vehicles/day) at the time of opening and between 9,000 and 43,000 (vehicles/day) 15 years after opening. The predicted traffic levels are rough estimates and will be reassessed before firm proposals are published, to take account of the latest survey data and of the detailed design of the scheme. The wide ranges quoted are due to significant variations in flow along the route, and the use of high and low growth factors.
