§ Mr. TraceyWe have no intention of dismantling the planning system, but we wish to simplify it and make it more efficient. We therefore keep the compoments of the 33W town and country planning system established by the 1947 Act under review, and details of our current policy initiatives are set out in chapter 5 of the White paper "Building Businesses … Not Barriers"—Cmnd 9794.
