§ Mr. Giles ShawThe information that is available on offences recorded by the police relates to offences of riot, unlawful assembly, causing an affray, and placing or 57W despatching articles to cause a bomb hoax, most of which are offences under common law. A total of 638 such offences were recorded by the Metropolitan police in 1985. The number of convictions in 1985 is not yet available.
