asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many courses were available for the training and education of prisoners in each year from 1980 to date.

The available information on education and vocational training courses relates to full-time courses in prisons and youth custody centres —prisons and borstals in the academic years 1981–82 and 1982–83in England and Wales and is as follows:
