Mr. Arnold

asked the Attorney-General, pursuant to the answer of 26 June, Official Report, column 266, if he will provide a detailed breakdown of the £6,000 travel costs arising from investigations into the affairs of the Peter Cameron Webb syndicate; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

The approximate figure of £6,000 as travel costs arising from investigations into the affairs of the Peter Cameron Webb syndicate comprised in part £1,180 in respect of five return air fares to Berne for five officials who visited Switzerland on three separate occasions, and additionally the first class return air fare of £2,246 to New York for leading counsel. Subsistence and hotel claims totalled £1,954. The actual total is therefore £5,380.
