asked the Secretary of State for Transport what estimate he has made of the implications of the availability of direct air links from Inverness to Heathrow for the international trading potential and prospects of indigenous industry in the Highlands; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend and I are taking these matters into account in our consideration of the Civil Aviation Authority's recent advice on air traffic distribution in the London area, on which he intends to make an announcement in due course.
