§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsI am advised by the Manpower Services Commission that expenditure under the technical and vocational education initiative for the financial years 1983–84, 1984–85 and 1985–86 was £1,449,568, £2,375.573 and £3,105,377, respectively.
The CPVE is administered by the Joint Board for Pre-Vocational Education and figures for the Board's expenditure in Wales are not separately available. The Welsh Office contributes to the grant paid by the Department of Education and Science to the joint board for the development of the CPVE. For the financial years 1983–84, 1984–85 and 1985–86 the contribution was £48,000, £41,000 and £57,000, respectively.
