§ Mr. McCrindleasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has received the annual report and accounts of the Air Travel Reserve Fund Agency for 1985–86.
§ Mr. Michael SpicerYes. The agency's final report is published today and copies are available in the Library. In acknowledging the report I would like to pay tribute to the work undertaken on behalf of holidaymakers by the chairman Sir Kenneth Selby, the members of the agency and their few executive staff. The history of the agency included in the report is itself testimony to the agency's efforts over the past 11 years.
I have read with interest the important points which Sir Kenneth has made in the report and I am sure that the trustees of the new Air Travel Trust, and the independent committee which advises them, will consider the report carefully. The committee will benefit from the expertise of members who were also members of the agency, and their presence will ensure an element of continuity with the experience of the agency.
