asked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the current statement of policy objectives for the trunk road programme.

Mr. Moore

The current statement of policy objectives for the trunk road programme in England is in paragraphs 11 and 12 of the report, "National Roads England — 1985". This updates the previous statement of policy objectives given in the White Paper "Policy for Roads in England: 1983" (Cmnd. 9059).

Copies of "National Roads in England—1985" were placed in the Library at the time of publication.
