§ Mr. Warrenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will review the level of radioactivity specified in the guide on the interpretation of the Radioactive Substances Act 1983; and if he will make a statement;
(2) what account was taken in calculating the level of radioactivity specified in the guide on the interpretation of the Radioactive Substances Act 1983 of data published by the Central Electricity Generating Board in relation to radioactivity levels of garden soil, tea, coffee and common fertilisers; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mrs. RumboldThere are no plans to update the guide to the administration of the Radioactive Substances Act 1960, which was published by Her Majesty's Stationery Office in 1982.
I shall ask the Central Electricity Generating Board to write to my hon. Friend, since the statement to which he refers appears to come from that source.
