§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has any plans to contract out National Health Service computer services to the private sector.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe National Health Service already makes considerable use of the private sector in developing computer services and we expect this to continue where it is cost-effective to do so. It would not be practicable to contract out all the planning, development and operation of National Health Service computer services.
