Member for Halton, if his Department has held any further discussions with the dairy trade about extending the existing Community social butter scheme; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GummerMy Department is in continuing contact with the dairy trade and other interested parties about the suggestion that the United Kingdom should seek an extension to the existing Community "social butter" scheme. Work on assessing the various implications of this is nearing completion and I hope soon to be able to consider the results.
