§ Mr. HowardNo. British standards are not mandatory for United Kingdom produced tyre foot pumps. It would therefore be contrary to our international trading obligations to require compliance from imports. However, those supplying tyre foot pumps with inaccurate gauges, whether home produced or imported, may be subject to prosecution under the Trade Descriptions Act.
