§ Mr. Chris PattenThere is no agreed list of duties that teachers are required to undertake as part of their contractual obligation. Nor did such a list exist five years ago. The Government's willingness to see an additional £1,250 million over four years spent on teachers' pay is conditional on the negotiation of just such a list.
