§ Mr. David Mitchell[pursuant to his reply, 16 December 1985, c. 43]: I have today given approval to 473W British Rail for the electrification of the line from Bournemouth to Weymouth at a cost of some £13.5 million, and for new rolling stock to run on principal services between London, Bournemouth and Weymouth at a cost (including associated facilities) of some £30 million. This scheme will bring the total investment we have approved for BR over the last 18 months to nearly £635 million.
