§ Mr. Stephen Rossasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total cost of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive's activities in the last financial year; and what figures in respect of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive are available to indicate (a) the dwelling stock, (b) the collectable rent which should have been received from tenants, (c) expenditure on repairs and maintenance of stock, (d) expenditure on new buildings, (e) expenditure on rehabilitation of stock, (f) expenditure on salaries and administration, (g) expenditure on grants to the private sector, (h) expenditure incurred on interest charges and (i) grant received from the Department of the Environment.
§ Mr. NeedhamThe total cost of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive's activities in 1984–85 was £482.8 million and in the current financial year is estimated at406W £501.8 million. The following figures are available for 1985–86 in respect of the executive's expenditure blocks which are most closely related to the information sought:
- (a) Effective dwelling stock—174810 (at December 1985)
- (b) Gross collectable rent (dwellings and garages)—£131.6 million (estimated)
- (c) Expenditure on housing and grounds maintenance —£52.9 million (estimated)
- (d) Expenditure on new housebuilding — £82.3 million (estimated)
- (e) Expenditure on improvement of the existing stock—£77.4 million (estimated)
- (f) Expenditure on supervision and management—£36.3 million (estimated)
- (g) Expenditure on House Renovation Grants — £60.2 million (estimated)
- (h) Expenditure on Loan Charges — £168.3 million (estimated)
- (i) Grant from the Department of the Environment — £194.9 million (estimated)
