§ Mr. Freudasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what information is available to his Department in respect of children who are educated out of school and subsequently taken into care by the local authority under a compulsory care order; how many such cases are known to him; and what representations he has received.
§ Mr. Chris PattenThe Department collects no information about such cases and only one has come to the attention of my right hon. Friend recently. Representations have been made by the parents that the authority concerned have acted unreasonably and the matter is currently being considered within the Department.
