§ Mr. Roger Kingasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any changes are proposed in the cash limit for Her Majesty's Customs and Excise.
§ Mr. BrookeSubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary supplementary estimate, the cash limit for class XIII, vote 5 will be increased by £1,750,000 from £355,082, 000 to £356,832,000 to cover the cost of increased operations in particular with regard to the prevention of drug smuggling, a shortfall in fees received from traders for out-of-hours Customs attendance, and payments made in lieu of interest, on payments to certain traders of overpaid VAT following legal decisions on direct selling.
