§ Mr. TraceyResponsibility for school sport is primarily a matter for the local education authorities and individual schools. However, I am keen to encourage greater participation by children, at school and elsewhere, in sport and recreation generally, including team sports. I am aware of concerns expressed by some organisations and individuals about standards of team sports in schools. I have asked for further evidence to support those concerns. When that is available, I shall consider whether discussions with other Ministers are appropriate.
