§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he expects an announcement to be made of the scope and nature of a multilaterally based fisheries conservation and management regime in the south west Atlantic.
§ Mr. EggarThe United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation is at present carrying out a technical study of the south west Atlantic fishery. We hope this will lead on without delay to discussion and agreement on multilateral fisheries conservation and management arrangements for the area. We fully support the FAO's initiative and have urged all the governments involved to co-operate actively.
