§ Mr. Cashasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will consider putting forward proposals to improve the practical working and effectiveness of the European Communities rules on competition and, in particular, to seek revision of articles 85 to 94 of the treaty of Rome, EEC regulation 17 of 6 February 1962 and related provisions.
§ Mr. ChannonI have no plans to seek changes in the competition provisions of the Treaty of Rome. But my592W Department remains in touch with the Commission about continuing improvements in the speedy and effective application of the rules.
