§ Mr. Barry Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Wales how much Welsh Development Agency cash has been made available and in what form to Biomass International, Clwyd.

§ Mr. Barry Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Wales how much Welsh Office moneys, including selective financial assistance, has been given to Biomass International, Clwyd.
§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe only financial assistance offered by the Welsh Office to this company has been regional selective assistance. This took the form of a job creation grant not exceeding £608,000 offered to Biomass Ltd, which traded as Biomass International, in respect of a project to provide 76 jobs at Deeside.
With this type of assistance, the amount of grant paid is related directly to the number of jobs actually provided. Only one part-payment of grant was made, against the jobs which had been created by October 1985.
